What’s happening in Abney Park?
Work is well underway on the restoration of Abney Park. The area serves as a paradise for local wildlife and is a peaceful area enjoyed by joggers, dog walkers or those seeking a quite area.
The current works will include a new café, a community classroom for use by groups, schools and more. And there’ll be workshops and other spaces rented out to local creatives, artisans and others to help the community get the most out of the space.
The Grade II listed chapel in the middle of the Park. built by William Hosking, is the oldest surviving non-denominational chapel in Europe.
The project will secure the future of the chapel and protect it from decay and eventual collapse. Once returned to its former glory, it will become a space for music performances, poetry readings, community events and much more.
It will also provide an amazing setting for weddings and other ceremonies. For more information visit www.abneypark.org
